How can hospitals help ensure medical records are completed in a timely fashion? This question is probably as old as the concept of the medical record itself. Hospitals use many tactics to attempt to assist physicians in achieving this goal, but most physicians' request is simply "just show me what I need to do and make it easy for me".

In answer to that request, Iatric Systems created Incomplete Records Management with VSB (Visual SmartBoard). This vibrant tool provides physicians with a visual point-and-click Windows display of incomplete records. The display can include information such as how long the record has been outstanding, and the total account dollars being held up from reimbursement as a result of any delay in completion. By simply clicking, VSB can also bring the physician to the exact routine in MEDITECH where his/her action is needed.

VSB also provides HIM, PFS and the Medical Staff Office with views of all outstanding activities that can be sorted by discharge date, physician, account total dollars or any other factor that may impact the hospital.
